About Me
My Approach to Teaching:
It is a bit surreal that my high-school hobby - helping friends with their math homework - is where I've found joy in a career after many years in academia and working as a consultant in Toronto.
I love helping students look at math in new ways and bring excitement to a subject that is frustrating for many. Math can be hard, but there are certainly more effective ways of solving problems than many students learn over their time in school.

I like to keep things fun and help students learn to speak and write math fluently. Terminology in math is as big a hurdle as any, to students gaining confidence and numeracy. I like to help students learn to take advantage of online tools so they can better check their own work and see math visually.

Background:
Upon graduation from King's-Edgehill School (KES) (2003), I received the Math and English awards for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Standard Level classes.

Being a natural academic I spent the next decade studying across various universities before completing my Industrial Engineering Degree (BASc) specializing in Human Factors at the University of Toronto (2013).
I spent two years in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) program at Acadia University before I realized that I preferred teaching one-on-one, and started my tutoring business in 2020.
